Fashion & Culture Writer

Description

ANCC Studio is building a roster of fashion and culture writers to commission for Screaming, our new magazine.

This is a roster call-out. We won't respond to immediate submissions. Work is reviewed on a rolling basis and we'll be in touch when a commission aligns.

London-based or remote.

In Detail

Pitch and write features, interviews, essays, and reviews across fashion and culture, for print and web.

Bring ideas the magazine wouldn't have found on its own, with a clear sense of who they're for.

Turn interviews into pieces that keep the subject's voice and earn their length.

Work with editors through drafts and edits without losing the point of the piece.

File clean, on time, and to length.

The Candidate

An editorial background, with published work in fashion, culture, or arts titles, in print or online.

A distinctive voice and a point of view you can defend.

Strong reporting instincts, from research and interviews through to checking your own facts.

Reliable with deadlines and gracious with edits.

An address book of subjects worth talking to, or the curiosity to build one.

Experience across both print and digital formats is a bonus, not a requirement.

London-based or able to work to UK hours.

Working with ANCC

Commission-based, paid per piece at agreed rates. Collaboration with Screaming's editors and the wider Creative team. Remote-friendly, with occasional in-person days for interviews, shoots, or events. Opportunities across print features, web pieces, interviews, and reviews.

Application Requirements

3 published clips or a portfolio link showing your range. A short note outlining the areas you cover, availability, and your rates. Optional: one pitch you'd love to write for a new magazine.
