Model and talent casting for fashion.

ANCC Studio casts models and talent for fashion shows, campaigns, e-commerce and content from London. The studio works with casting directors and model agencies across Europe, and street-casts when a project calls for it.

Method

Casting begins with the look of the season. The faces and types the images need are agreed with whoever signs the creative, before any agency is approached. The art director and the producer then build a shortlist from what the agencies propose, and the brand chooses from it.

Casting direction

Casting is part of the art direction. The art director sits in on casting, and the cast is held to the same references as the locations and the set. A campaign, a lookbook and an e-commerce day are each cast to the direction of the season.

Agencies and the street

The studio works with casting directors and a network of model agencies across Europe, and books a casting director for a campaign when the project needs one. Street casting runs beside agency casting when a project calls for faces from outside the agency books.

Usage

Usage is agreed with each agency before a model is confirmed: the media, the territories and the term, in the brand's own words. Before a face is proposed, the studio checks where it has recently appeared. A model still live in another brand's campaign is raised with the agency and the brand at the outset.

Shows and events

Runway shows and events are cast by the same method as campaigns, lookbooks and e-commerce, from the look of the season to the brand's final choice. The cast is carried through to the call sheet for the day.
