Editorial Intern

Description

ANCC Studio is offering an editorial internship supporting Screaming, our new magazine.

Best suited to a university placement year or a credit-bearing course placement, though strong applications outside of a course are welcome.

London-based.

In Detail

Support the editorial team across research, fact-checking, and transcription for features and interviews.

Help build and maintain the editorial calendar, tracking commissions, deadlines, and image rights.

Draft short-form copy, including standfirsts, captions, and web pieces, with edits and feedback along the way.

Assist on shoots and events connected to the magazine, keeping credits and releases in order.

Sit in on editorial meetings, learning how a magazine gets made from pitch to print.

The Candidate

An editorial background, whether student journalism, a zine, a campus magazine, or previous placement work.

Studying journalism, English, fashion communication, or similar, or recently graduated.

A reader first, with clear opinions on the magazines you love and why.

Careful with detail, so names, dates, credits, and quotes get checked properly.

Comfortable transcribing, researching, and chasing loose ends without being chased.

An interest in fashion and culture that goes past the surface.

London-based or able to travel in for studio days.

Working with ANCC

A structured placement with real briefs, supervision, and a named mentor. Collaboration with Screaming's editors and the wider Creative team. Hybrid workflow, with regular in-studio days.

Placement and Pay

Most of our internships run as university placements. Where the placement is a required part of a UK higher education course (up to 12 months), it sits within the student placement exemption under National Minimum Wage rules. Outside of a course placement, interns doing set hours and real work count as workers under UK law and are paid at least the National Minimum Wage for their age. Either way, we confirm the basis, dates, and any expenses in writing before you start.
